Just take a moment to think about this, do you walk out of a room with the fan, light and air conditioning running? Do you leave the television set on for no reason? Do you have the habit of running too many appliances at once? Well, if the answer to all these questions is ‘yes’, then it means that you are wasting a lot of energy. Electric Energy is taken for granted not just by the electricity providers but also by the consumer. Electric Energy was and always will be a boon to mankind. Unfortunately, man tends to become over ambitious and take things over board.

We all use way too many appliances only because we have got used to the comfort of living with machines. All you have to do is flip a switch and the machine does all the work for you. Have you taken a moment to think about how much of electric energy you are wasting? Every time you flip on a switch in your house, you are consuming power. Many a time, we do not even turn things off when they are not in use. This only adds to the misery of our planet. We have seen all the changes that are occurring to our planet. There have been more natural disasters in the past decade than in the past fifty years.

The earth is heating up and this is happening because of so much of energy consumption. We all have to become smart earth dwellers. We have to think of ways to save the planet that we call home. We hear the government promising to do something, but the truth is that we have taken this too far. Electric Energy is scarce. If we continue to waste power the way we do now, we would probably exhaust all the earth’s natural resources in the next few decades.

We all have to become smart electricity users and electricity providers. The alternate form of generating electric energy now is solar power. There are so many home and business owners who have started using this form of energy now as an alternate source. This is the first step that we can take as responsible citizens of the earth. There has been damage to the earth’s environment but we have not reached a stage where nothing can be done.
